Answer: "You mean to say, the former Israeli citizens?" Marwan Barghouti smirked, cleared his throat and seriously answered: "The Golan Heights region never belonged to the State of Israel. This is Syrian land, which was conquered in the belligerence committed by Israel in 1967. Therefore, and as a sign of our gratitude for Syria's help in our just war to destroy the Zionist cancer, we have decided to return these territories to the great Syrian nation. Therefore it is our honor to become allies of the great Syrian nation. The Israeli citizens of the Golan Heights must be evacuated from there, or an arrangement must be reached with the Syrian authorities, in the event that they so decide, to receive Syrian citizenship, or the status of a provisional citizen of Syria. In any case, these citizens must be handled by and through Syria and they have no place among us in the Palestinian State. Question: "What about the numerous reports of acts of murder, rape, looting and torture that commenced after the occupation of the State of Israel?" Marwan Barghouti assumed a serious expression when he answered that question. "To the best of my knowledge, there was no robbery, rape or murder upon the invasion of the Arab armies into the Land of Israel. Should there be any irregular acts they will be investigated by us with the utmost severity. Any complaint of the citizens of Former Israel shall be investigated". Question: "What about the settlers? Is this also true in regard to the new Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem and its environs?" Answer: "The citizens of the settlements are criminals against the Palestinian nation by their very presence there. The settlements shall be dismantled and these Israeli citizens must return to their previous communities. This is also true for the new Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem and its environs. My friend and colleague, Ahmed Kivi, shall serve as the Minister of the Interior in the new State of Palestine. In this capacity, he shall have the authority to determine the re-settlement of the Jews in the Land of Israel. From this podium, I first call upon Mr. Yosef Harig and Mr. Yosef Feigin to come and actively participate in the establishment of the new Palestinian State. They have always proven their true friendship to the Palestinian nation, and their desire to realize Palestinian justice and therefore we honor them and call upon them to come and cooperate with us. From this podium I suggest that Mr. Yosef Harig come join us in the role of Minister for Jewish Affairs, and that Mr. Yosef Feigin also fill a position. It is very important for us that Jews cooperate with us in our new government and state, for the benefit of all." Question: "What about the section in the Palestinian Charter calling for Jews to return to their original countries, at least those who came to Israel after 1917?" Answer: "This is a very difficult question, since there are millions of such residents. I suppose that in this matter, we will have to compromise. Nonetheless, we shall not compromise regarding new immigrants who immigrated to Israel in the past 10 years. I presume that this matter and others shall be investigated and a clear policy of the new Palestinian State shall be determined in their regard". That's all folks |
